OCR Leisure and Tourism Dual Award GCSE

This GCSE is designed to widen participation in vocationally related learning and enables candidates to develop a valuable insight into the Leisure and Tourism industry via investigation and practical classroom activities. It contains a balanced spread of content, covering the investigation of Leisure and Tourism, marketing and customer service. It is the equivalent to two GCSE’s and is on the National Qualifications Framework.

NEW CLAIT levels 1& 2

The OCR Level 1 Certificate for IT Users (New CLAIT) is designed to boost candidates' IT confidence through practical task assignments. Suitable for IT beginners, it enables candidates to become familiar with the most widely used current software packages. This qualification is nationally recognised allowing learners to progressively build their accredited IT skills.

ASDAN Bronze / Silver Award

The ASDAN award is approved by the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) and was referred to in the Dearing Report as examples of good practice in the context of "Recognising a Wider Range of Achievement" and "Improving Skills in Lifelong Learning". It is an excellent way of delivering self reliance and flexibility as the programmes are learner centred, offering opportunities for a negotiated curriculum which is modular and activity based. The tasks encourage personal and social development through awareness of the home, community and world of work whilst recognising achievement in these areas.

Young Enterprise

The Young Enterprise Programme provides learners with an opportunity to nurture and realise their enterprise and financial capability as well as develop general business and economic understanding. Volunteers from local business work in partnership with tutors to support learners, providing opportunities to give context and meaning to the programme and the skills learned.
